About Sophia Sunshine

Thank you for taking out the time to visit my website—I pray that something speaks to you and blesses you here. My name is Sophia Sunshine Vilceus (yes, my mother did a wonderful job on the name, right!?)

I am a proud Native New Yorker and my family hails from Haiti, so I know all about good bagels & strong coffee. I have been fortunate enough to earn degrees from CUNY City College of New York and Howard University, where I studied English/Creative Writing, Ethnic Studies, African Studies, and Media Studies. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Education at The University of Delaware.

I am an Assistant Professor of English at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. I was grateful to serve as an English Professor at Eastern University, The University of Maryland, Montgomery Community College, and Prince George's Community College.

I am still amazed that God would choose me to be  the author of "Late Conversations with my Late Mother" "The Last Pew: Journeying Back to God's Will After an Affair." These two books are  some of my greatest life's work because they were birthed from my toughest life experiences. I hope something within those pages come alive and speak directly to you.

Connect with me on social media and let's stay in touch! I love you for your support.

In God's Will,

Soph
